We want to take the opportunity to up-date you on what we have learned concerning the appropriate response to the COVID-19 virus. We have participated in weekly teleconferences with the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Arizona Department of Education. The following statement was issued by AZDHS:
“The Arizona Department of Health Services does not currently recommend school closures at this time.” School leaders were told “that school closures could potentially lead to an increase in community spread if students were to be placed in a different congregate area outside of their regular communities for childcare purposes. Importantly, when community spread is minimal, keeping our schools open also provides children with a regular routine that helps reduce panic and fear in the midst of tense times.”
Based on the factual information received we have no plans for closure, unless the AZDHS contacts us directly.
At Imagination Childcare we already exercise the best practice recommendations for cleaning on a daily basis and are working to improve hand washing even more with the children. We continue to encourage you to continue efforts at home and to make sure you have your child wash hands at drop off.
If your child is staying home sick, we are asking that you call the school and report the reason. This will help us to protect every child in our care.
Thank you for your continued support and if you have any questions feel free to stop into the office.
